Chuck's Market
About This Spot
Chuck’s Market feels like a cherished corner of Indianapolis that quietly holds a lifetime of neighborhood stories. Nestled just beneath the overpass at 30th and Massachusetts Avenue, this grocery store exudes the unpretentious warmth of a long-standing mom-and-pop shop, where familiar faces and friendly greetings are as much a part of the visit as the carefully curated aisles.
Step inside and there’s a steady, unhurried rhythm—a pace that invites you to linger just a little longer than planned. The atmosphere is grounded in a genuine connection to the community, where generations have stopped by not only to gather groceries but also to catch up on local happenings. The smile from the staff and the absence of rush remind you that here, you’re more than a customer—you’re part of a shared neighborhood experience.
Chuck’s caters to the heart of everyday cooking with an inviting selection that speaks to the local palate. The shelves hold hard-to-find deli meats and familiar seasonings that quietly nod to family traditions—ingredients that make a simple home-cooked meal meaningful. There’s a subtle pleasure in discovering the kind of items that bring memories rushing in or become part of new routines.
The blend of old and new is present throughout the market. While the store has evolved over the years, it has maintained the same comforting spirit, where the personal touches—like thoughtful service and a welcoming environment—make a visit feel like coming home. Whether you’re popping in for a quick loaf of bread or spending a little extra time exploring the generous selection, Chuck’s Market stands as a small, heartfelt hub amidst the rhythm of daily life.

Chuck’s Market is truly the spot. You ain’t from the east side if you’ve never had the pleasure of experiencing this beloved mom and pop spot. Chuck’s Market caters to the needs of our people. If you looking for seasoning meat to cook your greens -Chuck’s got it. The biscuits and gravy is off the chain. And to top it off they carry Queen Cit Hot Head Cheese. This place brings back so many fond memories when my mother had to get our lunch meat. This is truly the spot.

As part of my commute, I've been driving by this charming little market for 25 years and never stopped in! It's underneath the overpass at 30th and Massachusetts Avenue off of Emerson Avenue. I've always wanted to know what it was like there and I finally stopped today because I had a little free time. It's a nice neighborhood market, perfect for running in and grabbing some bread, some juice, freshly sliced deli meat, regionally produced candies and all sorts of goodies. My goody of choice was this black cherry lemonade drink from a company called Calypso. Delicious!

They have a lot of hard to find deli meats and a huge selection. Whenever I'm in Indiana I stop here and I'm spending $50 on deli meats that I don't have back home.

This market has been around since I was a kid, my mother use to love to get her round colby jack cheese sliced thin from there. It warms the heart to see that this store is still pretty much the same, tho there have been some updates of course. The staff are as friendly as ever, much wider selection of groceries, prices are not bad at all, no long wait at the register. I love the added personal touch of the memory walls-photos of all the shoppers that have come in thru the years hugged every wall of the store in a unique collage. Very humble market

Private own the best of the best. It's hard to find mom / pop stores anymore. Going there it puts you in the mind of how it used to be , and not over price . My favorite thing to get are moon pies ,the original size

My childhood neighborhood market. This store was also a safe haven for us as well. I had to take a trip back to Chuck’s.
